Botulinum Toxin Application
Botox® or Vistabel® (the commercial name for Botulinum Toxin) is an injectable treatment that reduces the appearance of dynamic wrinkles on the face (commonly known as expression lines), which result from excessive contraction of certain muscle groups.
Treatment
It is a quick procedure, taking only a few minutes, using a small needle to avoid certain side effects such as swelling or bruising.
The injection of the toxin is administered in small amounts into the muscles where we want to inhibit contraction, leading to their relaxation and thus preventing the appearance of wrinkles on the skin. Its careful and correct application is essential for a good result.
The results are natural and gradually consolidate over the next 3 to 10 days, with a follow-up consultation required on the tenth day to assess and, if necessary, make any adjustments. This toxin will cause muscle inactivity for about 4 months during the first applications. This duration is due to the rapid formation of neuromuscular junctions by our body.
However, this process can be repeated every 4-6 months, and as the procedure is repeated, the toxin tends to last longer over time.
