PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a special centrifugation technique performed using a blood sample from the person's own body.
It is a treatment that utilizes growth factors derived from the platelets in our blood to stimulate cellular regeneration and accelerate tissue repair.
Initially, a small amount of blood is collected, which will then be placed in a properly sterilized tube.
This tube is placed inside a centrifuge, at high speeds, in order to separate the plasma from the different components of the blood.
During this process, the red and white blood cells are separated from the plasma and platelets.
After this process, a golden-yellow liquid, the plasma, is obtained, which contains a higher number of platelets than usual. Platelets are the cells present in our blood that help in tissue healing and promote the production of new cells, including collagen and hyaluronic acid production.
When applied to specific areas of the skin through a local intradermal injection, they act as a matrix that promotes increased collagen production, regenerates tissues, smooths, and firms the skin, contributing to a significant improvement in skin quality.
It is a simple, safe, and quick procedure that uses the growth factors from each individual, without synthetic products or surgery. Your own blood does all the work. As such, it does not present contraindications or serious side effects from its application.
The results begin to appear 3-4 weeks after the treatment and gradually improve over time, with the most significant results being more noticeable after 1 to 2 months. PRP maintenance treatments should be administered over time depending on the needs of each case.
It can be indicated for the treatment of alopecia (hereditary or non-hereditary).
In these cases, PRP is injected into the scalp to stimulate the hair follicle unit, promoting hair growth. It is a procedure that can be performed as a standalone treatment to strengthen the follicle, ensuring its longevity and potential, as well as revitalizing dormant or senescent (aging) follicles, stimulating the growth of new hair.
PRP is recommended for everyone, regardless of the degree of alopecia, and even for those who have already undergone a hair transplant.
Unlike hair transplants, the PRP treatment does not have side effects such as crust formation, trauma, and erythema, healing much more quickly. The treatments should be done in a 6-month protocol, repeated every 4 weeks.
