Ultherapy Prime
Ultherapy Prime® is an innovative, non-surgical and non-invasive technology that uses high-intensity focused ultrasound energy to heat skin tissue at various depths, triggering a natural healing response that leads to the formation of new collagen.
It improves elasticity and reduces skin laxity on the face, neck, and décolleté, helping to achieve the desired lifting effect.
Dr Marta Beauty Clinic was the first clinic in Portugal to acquire this treatment and, to date, is the only one offering Ultherapy Prime® to its patients.
How does it work?
Unlike laser and radiofrequency treatments, which act on the more superficial layer of the skin (penetrating from the outside in), Ultherapy® targets the deeper and structural layers of the skin where the regenerative and healing process occurs, as well as the facial musculature, working from the inside out.
Ultherapy® uses three transducers with variable depths – 1.5mm, 3.0mm, and 4.5mm – for different areas of the face, neck, and décolleté, providing a more effective result. Each pulse increases the temperature of the skin tissue up to 70°C, creating contraction points that cause small injuries forming scar tissue in the deeper layers of the skin, promoting a greater production of support fibers.
Ultherapy® also features patented DeepSEE® technology, which visualizes tissues up to 8mm deep. This allows the treating physician to see the layers of tissue being treated, ensuring that the energy is delivered safely and precisely where it will be most beneficial for the treatment.
Who is a candidate?
This treatment is suitable for anyone showing signs of mild to moderate sagging who does not want to undergo a surgical method, or for those seeking a preventive treatment.
Some of the most common signs include drooping eyebrows, excess eyelid skin, and loss of definition in the facial and neck contours, among others. For more advanced sagging, surgical facelifts remain the most recommended treatment.
What is the duration of the session?
On average, approximately 30-60 minutes.
Is it painful?
Since it is a heat-based treatment, some discomfort during the session is common. Therefore, before the treatment begins, a numbing cream is applied to the target area to ensure the procedure is as comfortable as possible.
After the session, you may experience some swelling and redness, which will fade within a few hours. No recovery time is needed, and you can resume your daily routine immediately with complete normality.
Is it safe?
Yes. Rigorous clinical studies and scientific publications worldwide confirm its efficacy and safety. Additionally, Ultherapy® is the only non-surgical procedure approved by the FDA with subdermal visualization.
This distinguishing feature allows us to detect the appropriate depth for each treatment, avoiding contact with bone, vascular structures, and other tissues—further proving its safety and efficacy.
How often should it be done?
This treatment is performed only once a year to maintain the achieved results.
What is the duration of the results?
Results are visible immediately after the session. However, the maximum lifting effect will only be apparent after 3 months.
As the collagen production process continues, improvements in skin quality may be noticeable for up to 6 months after treatment.
