Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy, or intradermotherapy, is an exclusively medical technique that involves injecting solutions with highly diluted pharmacological substances. These are FDA (Food and Drug Administration)-approved solutions, proven for their efficacy and safety.

It is a non-surgical method performed through small intradermal injections. While not completely painless, it is generally a well-tolerated procedure and takes about 15-30 minutes to complete. The number of treatments required varies from person to person.

Mesotherapy is also a leading treatment for cellulite, localized fat, and toxin elimination in the body. This technique targets the receptors inside our fat cells, which are responsible for lipogenesis (fat production) and lipolysis (fat breakdown).

The receptors that break down fat are known as beta receptors, while those that produce fat are called alpha receptors. Alpha receptors are stimulated when a person consumes foods containing carbohydrates, fats, amino acids, hormones, or alcohol.

Thus, our goal is to block these alpha receptors while stimulating the beta receptors with the help of mesotherapy—by injecting fat-reducing substances directly into the fat layer. This promotes the breakdown of fat deposits and cellulite.

These substances are selected according to the specificity of each case and the respective area to be treated.

At Dr Marta Beauty, we use mesotherapy integrated into specific protocols combined with other techniques such as ultrasound and radiofrequency, giving the treated skin a smoother and more toned appearance.

Mesotherapy can be used on any part of the body, including the arms, abdomen, flanks, saddlebags, or "double chin" (submental fat).
