Mesotherapy, or intradermotherapy, is an exclusively medical technique that consists of injecting solutions with very diluted pharmacological substances. They are solutions approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) proving their effectiveness and safety.
It is a non-surgical method performed by applying small intradermal injections, it is not completely painless but it is generally a well-tolerated procedure, and takes about 15 to 30 minutes to complete. The number of treatments needed varies from person to person.
Mesotherapy is also a reference in the treatment of cellulite, localized fat and elimination of toxins present in the body. This technique targets the receptors that are inside our fat cells and that are responsible for lipogenesis (fat production) and lipolysis (fat destruction).
Receptors that destroy fat are known as beta receptors, while those that produce fat are known as alpha receptors. Alpha receptors are stimulated when a person eats foods that contain carbohydrates, fats, amino acids, hormones or alcohol.
