What is it?
Dr Marta Beauty Clinic is the first and only clinic in Portugal to use the latest Lutronic Genius® technology. It is a high precision treatment that consists of the combination of two technologies, microneedling and radiofrequency. It is a treatment of excellence in skin care, being the only technology with triple action that treats sagging, wrinkles and texture at the same time.
How does it work?
The Lutronic Genius® works through tissue coagulation. This coagulation is the result of a series of thermal energy shots using microneedles, which causes the temperature in the skin tissue to rise up to 65 to 70°C, thus creating more than 50,000 micro-coagulation areas per treatment.
This process creates retraction points that cause small lesions that form a scar in the deeper layers of the skin, resulting in the regeneration of collagen and elastin and in the improvement of skin texture, wrinkles, and sagging.
Differences between Lutronic Genius® and other microneedlig radio frequency machines?
The Lutronic Genius® differs from other RF microneedling devices in that it is more effective and has no recovery time. It has 49 needles, a larger number compared to other machines, which means more energy is delivered to the skin for better results.
The Genius presets and needle tips are designed for all skin types and different areas of the body, and are also thinner and more flexible causing less epidermal damage, less risk of bruising, bleeding or scratching, which are often seen with other machines.
The Lutronic Genius® also offers real-time temperature monitoring which makes this treatment safer and more comfortable.

Is it painful?
As this is a minimally invasive procedure, precautions must be taken before treatment begins. An anesthetic cream will be applied to the area being treated that will eliminate any discomfort during the procedure.
After the session the skin may present some erythema (redness of the skin) and you may also feel a slight burning sensation, similar to a slight sunburn. These effects will disappear within 24 to 48 hours.
Is it safe?
Yes, Lutronic Genius® is a non-surgical procedure that is FDA approved, and rigorous clinical studies and scientific publications worldwide ensure its efficacy and safety, with side effects being particularly rare.
How often should it be done?
The number of sessions depends on medical indication. However, on average, 2 to 6 sessions are needed with 4 to 8 week spacing.
How long do the results last?
The results start to be visible after one month. However, the maximum effect will only be visible after approximately 3 months, since the body will need to stimulate the production of new collagen fibers and strengthen the existing ones. Since collagen production decreases with age, it may be necessary to perform more than one treatment for the best results.
