Thread Lifting

Tension threads are an excellent and effective procedure that uses collagen-stimulating threads in order to produce a subtle and visible “lifting” on the skin.

It is a non-invasive, painless, and fast method that uses polydioxanone threads, a material that has been used for many years in medicine, being totally biocompatible and resorbable by our body. Its intradermal placement is done with the aid of a cannula and, once the desired tension is obtained, the ends of the wires are cut.

There are two different groups of tensioning threads, Mesothreads, which are collagen inducers, and Thread Lift, or traction threads, which in addition to inducing collagen production are essentially responsible for the desired lifting effect. When these wires are placed, they produce a small lesion in the tissues, which causes the organism to start a natural healing process, increasing the supply of collagen to these tissues.

The body is biologically programmed to react in this way when it detects any foreign object present on our skin. It is through this healing response that the wires placed will function as an integral support structure, stimulating the internal tissues and densifying the dermis, contributing to continuous and progressive skin rejuvenation.

People who resort to this type of treatment notice a gradual improvement in the quality and elasticity of the skin.

The effect is immediate; however, the results are progressive and natural and the lifting effect reaches its maximum effect after 3 months.

The duration of the results varies between 12-24 months, depending on the age of the person, the quality of the skin, the degree of sagging, and the type and number of threads used.
The application of tensioning wires is a safe procedure and complications are essentially temporary, such as bruising and edema. After the treatment you may feel a slight sensation of “tightness” or something that is “pulling” the skin, however, that sensation disappears after 2 weeks. After the treatment you may feel a slight sensation of “tightness” or something that is “pulling” the skin, however, that sensation disappears after 2 weeks.

Tensioning thread is indicated for:
  • TMiddle third: elevation of the cheekbones (upper and lower cheeks);
  • Lower third: improvement of nasogenian grooves, puppet lines (or Chinese mustache), and mandibular zone.
