Pixel Erbium YAG

What is it?

At Dr. Marta Beauty Clinic, we use the latest laser technology from Alma® Lasers, the Erbium YAG.

It is a fractional and ablative laser resurfacing with a peeling effect that aims to regenerate your skin, correcting imperfections and giving a homogeneous tone, giving it a more youthful appearance.

How does it work?

With a wavelength of 2940nm, Er: YAG is characterized by extremely high absorption of water, making it especially effective in treating the upper layers of the skin, which are made up of 70% water. The high energy vaporizes the water from the tissue and thus removes the top layer of the skin. Er: YAG creates a series of micro-wounds in the epidermis, in a controlled manner, with the aim of rectifying the skin.

In this way, the skin activates a natural healing process, based on the production of new collagen, strengthening it and improving its texture.

It also stimulates the regeneration of new cells, replacing the aged and damaged skin by the action of sunlight with rejuvenated new skin.

Who is a candidate?

This type of laser is effective in all phototypes and is indicated for those who want to eliminate skin imperfections and mitigate marks, such as:

  • Scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Acne marks
  • Expression wrinkles
  • Pigmentation
  • Skin sagging
  • Photoaging of the skin
  • Enlarged pores

The delicacy and precision of the iPixel Erbium allow you to treat facial and body areas, such as the periocular area, perioral (“barcode”), neck, décolleté, hands, among other areas of the body.

How long is the session?

Between 30-45 minutes.

Is it painful?

In the case of an ablative fractional laser, precautions must be taken during treatment. In this way, an anesthetic cream is placed in the area to be treated so that the treatment is as comfortable as possible, during which you are also entitled to a cooling system to relieve the thermal sensation.

After the session, you may feel a slight burning sensation, compared to a slight sunburn, which will disappear in a few hours. This procedure also has a minimum recovery time of approximately 7-10 days.

Is it safe?

Yes. Rigorous clinical studies and scientific publications, worldwide, ensure its effectiveness and safety.

How often should it be done?

The number of sessions depends on the indication, however, on average, 2-4 sessions are needed with an interval of 2 months.

How long do the results last?

It is important to keep in mind that with age the collagen production decreases, so it is important to hold seasonal sessions so that the results are maintained.

It is also important to adopt a daily skincare routine, namely the application of sun protection, to prevent the appearance of future marks and imperfections
